Technics SL-23 - Bought it twice!

I bought this back in 1979, as my first ever Hi-Fi turntable. It lasted until 2008, after just under 30 years of use, when the electronics decided to die. First the speed controller died on 45rpm, and then on 33(1/3) rpm, so it was uncontrollable on either speed. Finally, the supply to the motor died, so that was that. Repairs would have been too costly, so it was put in a box and stored away. Stubborn as always, I was determined to own another one, but the only ones available on Ebay were either in the USA or Germany and I was concerned about damage in transit. Finally though, one appeared on Ebay, and I bought it, driving over 300 miles to pick it up and bring it home, but it was worth it. One new belt later, and it was playing my Supertramp 'Breakfast In America' album flawlessly. I used a Sony Headshell, with a Sony Cartridge from another turntable, but I have the original Technics Headshell too, so I will be using that with an Ortofon FF15EMKII cartridge, to give me the spec I used happily for so many years.
