So it's winter which means it's time to actually get around to the litany of projects I've had plans to work on over the year. Top of the list is digging into my record-playing workhorse, a Technics SL-3300 that runs great except for the problem it has developed whereby it will take a fair amount of time (30+ seconds) for the tone arm to move after the start button has been engaged. It's been a while since I've been inside this particular unit, but my gut instinct tells me that it likely has something to do with old dried up factory grease. Does anyone have any insights into the problem at hand?
