Technics SL-BD3 Opinions...

Howdy listeners,
Recently found a Technics SL-BD3 in decent shape. Thinking of buying it. I find lots of good opinions on the SL-D3, but not much on this.
Anyone have experience with this beauty?

It is a respectable entry level belt drive table. One thing to note, it uses a P-mount cartridge. That in and of itself is not a bad thing, except for the fact that there are not very many options for p-mount cartridges these days (obsolete). Most options will be of the used or NOS variety. They do show up for sale on the auction site on a regular basis. I would not sink a lot into this model because of this. The plastic dust cover hinge tabs tend to break off of the dust covers over time. That said, I would still personally prefer it to most of the new entry level models today. (but I also have a large collection of p-mount cartridges)

This is a great reply and highly informative. This alone makes it easy to pass up as there are much better options I can find for the price I found this one. Audiokarma for the win!!!
