Technics SL-D202 33 RPM Unstable After Thorough Cleaning

I got the new POTS in today and got the VR203 for the 33 rpm installed and I still get the same wavering speed with no adjustments. The internal wheel and pitch wheel have no effect on it. I bought 3 and tested the other two POTS and one seems to be adjustable and the other is set at 18. I'm gonna swap in the one the seems to be adjustable and see what happens.
I cannibalized the speed control PCB parts from the other SL-D202 I have and it worked perfectly! I believe there may be more than just the POT being the problem.

I just ordered the speed control PCB that is the newer version with the extra smaller PCB attached to the motor base. I don't think I want to try and troubleshoot the unknown issue with the problem child.

Did you ever figure out or pinpoint the culprit? I have the same exact issue on same turntable. 45 fine but 33 does a very consistent slowdown then speeds up. I deoxitd all the pots. Same with pitch adjust. Worked it well. Deoxitd the buttons. Deoxitd the pots on the board. I’m not very familiar with these but could it have to do with the magnetic drive components that spin the platter. I never saw a setup like this, I’m also not too experienced with this drive system. It seems like issue might be somewhere there. This is just a unit I had been meaning to fix so not too overly concerned but would be cool to get the 33 speed dialed in and steady. Thanks!

Yes. I posted it earlier in this thread. I took a PCB from another D202 I had on hand and it fixed it. I ordered another one off eBay and the other one is good to go. The pitch wheel itself can be taken apart and cleaned as it does accumulate gunk inside. I've show how in my videos on my channel. I show on a SL-D303 how to clean out the inside of the Pitch Wheel at about 58 minutes in. It's the same pitch wheel as the D202:
I still have a D202 on hand if yoy need more help. Just email me at: vinylrescue1980@gmail.com
