Greetings, I have a Technics SL-D3 that has broken potmeters, some years ago I wanted to clean them with isopropyl alcohol as it was not running stable, but while turning the potmeters with a screwdriver I accidently pushed to hard (on both of them :/) and I pushed the middle part out. At that time I did not wanted to deal with taking it apart so it was just sitting in my cellar. Now I want to put in the time to take it apart and fix it. Sadly I don't have a service manual and vinylengine is closed for new registration.
Couple of questions. I think I need to unscrew the the whole turning mechanism to get to the PCB, correct? While it is open, is there any other maintenance/service/replacement of parts that I can do (it's the first time I do this)? Do I clean all the grease and apply new? I read I should use silicone grease.
Does anyone know a replacement part for the potmeters? Google says it's not made anymore and I should find a replacement of the same size and pinout, maybe somebody else here already found a good part.
Thank you!
