Technics SL-DL1 Disc Size detect issue

I recently obtained a SL-DL1 Technics turntable. I serviced the unit and lubricated gears and replaced the arm drive belt. The unit detects 12 and 10 inch records but does not detect 7 inch records and defaults to 10. LEDs are working fine. Any suggestions as to cause/solution would be appreciated.
