Hello All,
I have finally encountered a problem that will end my years of lurking and demands direct engagement!
Last month I purchased a Technics SL-DL1 on ebay, here is the listing : http://www.ebay.com/itm/122487035998?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
He is clearly an honorable seller and I trust that the table was working great right up until he packed it.
However upon plug-in I discovered no audio coming from the left channel. I tried ALL process of elimination exercises (various amps and pre-amps, the switching of left right rca, tightening screws, cleaning contacts) yet the problem remains.
I also tied a few tests to see if the signal is coming from the tonearm (touching paper clip to connector points for cartridge). I'm getting an equal buzz from each side which make me wonder if somehow the cartridge got damaged in transit... you guys have any other ideas?
