Technics SL-DL1 problems

Getting no platter rotation no matter what I try. When the power button is pressed and then start button, the repeat indicator flashes. I hear a hum but no platter rotation. I took the bottom off and didn't find any soldering or overheating problems that were obvious. Platter spins freely by hand. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, Jeff. Looked through the service manual but didn't offer any troubleshooting tips. I'm not a technician, just a tinkerer. This model is significantly more complicated than most of the turntables I try to revive! Thanks

Well, is probably an easier fix than trying to find a solution for weak dust cover hinges

Check the solder pts at the motor, had a few of these tables with this problem and all had bad solder connections
