Technics SL-DL5 FC302 Cabinet Switch Help

I recently acquired a Technics SL-DL5 for $9 at the local Goodwill. Didn't run when I got it so did the normal routine and ordered a new belt and re-lubricated everything. Still nothing.

Closer inspection showed that the moving tab on the cabinet switch was broken off so the turntable thought the lid was open all the time. Opened it up, confirmed the fault, and jammed a non-conducive bit in there closing the switch for testing. Worked a treat. Turntable fired right up, tonearm moved into position, and we're good to go.

Anyone have a line on where I could source an FC302 switch, maybe in someone's donor systems? Baring that, I think I could just solder it short closed for a slightly more permanent work around. Does that sound right?
