Technics SL1700 Channel Dropout

I've had this turntable for many years and it has always performed flawlessly until this weekend when the right channel disappeared. I tried all the usual stuff: cleaning the contacts for the headshell, reseating the tonearm connection, swapping out the cartridge, changing out the RCA plugs on the cable. Nothing has helped - any suggestions?

It is most likely the interconnects inside the turntable. Try swapping the right and left RCAs into your receiver. Does the lost channel follow from right to left?

Yep. My current theory is wiring inside the turntable, possibly also a sticking muting switch.

The SL-1700 does not have a muting switch, the SL-1700MK2 does though but this is a totally different turntable.

Yes, the wiring inside.The rca's get pinched at their mounting bracket,happened to mine,Just replace them.

Thanks, everyone. Turns out the RCA cables were bad, nothing else. Works great now!
