I just purchased console with a Technics 1800 in it. Fairly new to this but a few questions.

1. Cartridge was Damaged when item was received. Any suggestions on a fairly priced replacement?

2. Dust cover is missing. Any idea where I can purchase a replacement?

3. The power button is stuck on. Any suggestions onhow to get it to function properly?

Attached are photos of the equipment that came with the console.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, this cartridge is dead as a dodo.

I recommend something from the new AT-VM95 series: the base models are inexpensive and it’s possible to upgrade them later with a better stylus.

What do you think about this one?

That turntable can get the best out of a cartridge up to the low four figure price range it is a great table. With a limited budget, stratokaster has it right, buy one that you can put a nicer stylus on when the original starts to wear and maybe you can afford that extra bit.

What is the small box next to the turntable?

I would bet the dust cover is missing because you cant open it fully in the cabinet. Do you have the hinges? Ebay is going to be the place to find a cover, new or used. There is a vendor that makes very nice new covers. I believe it is JMK Displays. They make them to install with the original hardware. Might also check with Organ Donor Parts. They are an AK sponsor.

Looks like a nice console. Any idea what the speakers are? Hafler amp and pre are nice pieces btw.

You'll have to pull the table apart and then clean the power switch and it should be good to go. I'd clean it with some dexoit or some other contact cleaner. That's how I did the two I had.

The switch on my SL-1600II was difficult because of the interference of the faceplate with the switch movement. Might be that easy.

Euphonics PS-15 Power Source I have no idea what it’s for.

Not going to lie kind of scared to pull it apart and put it back together and it not work lol

Interesting

The power supply is designed to allow a specific strain gauge cartridge to work with stereo gear. If you have the correct cartridge, curious if it could be put to use. Stain gauge cartridges were some good ones back then. Don't know if this was one of them. Vinylengine has some info on it in threads that google found. Without the cartridge the box would not be needed and maybe someone else would need it.

I luckily found a dust cover on eBay without the hinges for $100 I talked the seller down and got it for $50.
