Technics SL7

Just picked up a Technics SL7. The woman says it was never used and it looks it. Original box and packing and not a blemish on it.
I paid $75.00 for it. I've heard mixed reviews about the model. Does anyone have any history or reviews?
Is it worth keeping?
If weight is any indication it must be a superb turntable!

The SL-7 is kind of a cheaper variety of the SL-10 which is a pretty well-respected Technics linear tracker. As with most TT's of this type, the problem is finding a decent TP4 cartridge to use. Without pics and just going by your description, I'd say you did okay with your purchase.

More of a question of history and review.
Less of value

A friendly hint, never question an Admin in the open forums. If you have a problem with an Admin's ruling, take it back-channel via a PM. These guys do one helluva job here and haven't gotten a raise in ages. They are quite reasonable folks with an enormous amount of patience for us and are always willing to discuss what they do as it relates to us users. My opinion mind you.

It is my favorite of the close and play models.
Mostly for looks but also for the MC preamp that it doesn't have like the SL-10.
Can be a good or better performer.

Ya done good. I'da bought another for that price.
