Try to work on a Technics SU-V85A main circuit board, can someone confirm or comment on my replacement parts? Thanks.

Anyone? Are these Nichicon UPW proper type on this board? Cant really tell with my limited experiences. Thanks.

Looking at C606/607 location, having a smaller leakage will not make much difference. Using UPW will actually be better for endurance (temperature, ripple). Even C609 might not need to be UKL and UPW might be more beneficial. Don't think I will be able to hear the difference. Anything you throw in here will most probably better than the original. You might get more benefit by prioritizing lead spacing and voltage/temperature rating.

I am not at the level can tell by looking at the schematic but will follow you guys advice, use UKL for C 503 - 506. Thx.

Slowly moving onto to “tone control circuit board”, here are the schematics from SM. TB1 and TB2 make the complete copy. TB_1 and TB_2 are the enlarged portion of TB1, not the greatest copy. Other than C311 and C312 are noted as NP (or BP), cant tell anything special, plan to use:

1. Nichicon UES for C311, C312
2. Film cap for 3.3 and lower if size fits
3. The rest will be UFG (or anything more proper?) please help.
4. Is there anyone need to low leak type here?

Thanks.

Using UFG will be safe in here. We are now moving towards the topic of capacitor sound. There are many point of views. If you want to go down this rabbit hole, there is currently an active thread in another audio forum, just google “When not to use low leakage KL?”

Thx for the info.
No, I just want to make sure I use proper type/types; I don’t think I can hear the differences even I use the best ones.
