Picked up a set of T-500 Technics speakers.
Re foamed woofers, but guy said super tweeters out on both.
The cabinets are great condition, grills a bit fragile.
Anyone have experience with these?
Seem quite rare?
What brand of woofers they used?
I know kabuki! But not always the case.lol
I have not hooked up yet, due to broken right hand, hard to move these monsters around.

Thank you4F09E691-5C35-467A-8AAA-ABB62985531A.jpeg

I remember those speakers - that grill is distinctive.
All four super tweeters being out might be the result of bad caps, not bad tweeters - worth checking.
Tastes differ, so whether they are Kabuki or not, you may like them. And I have a memory of High Fidelity rating them reasonably well, so you may be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks, and yes I will check cap out.I usually recap with films anyhow.
Appreciate your input. Thanks

Thanks, I read on here somewhere the woofers are GEFCO ? But I check once I open.
Broken bone in right hand has me limited at the moment. Thanks

Woofers may not be original. Here's a pic from a sales brochure on eBay:

And here's a set for sale on USAM with similar woofers:

They are indeed GEFCO 1056 EIA code.

My next question is this is a sealed cabinet.

Should one of these 10 inch woofers be wired out of phase? Thanks98BEA9BC-F63E-472B-B5BF-D803A4FE5128.jpeg18EE59A8-E9EA-4A1B-9374-DDBF21F67740.jpeg

They should be wired in phase no matter what type of enclosure it is, otherwise they will cancel each other out.

They should be in phase. It's remotely possible that one of them was manufactured wrong or was rebuilt, and the apparent out of phase wiring is to compensate. Easy to check with a AA or AAA battery or with an ohm meter - quickly make and break the connection and see which way the cone jumps.

All 4 phenolic ring tweeters are dead.
They are made by CTS.
And they still sound good. Thanks

How to find specs on these tweeters to find a good replacement?
I know PartsExpress sell these.

Anyone have opinions? Thanks
