Technics TT lid falls down

My Technics SL-D3 turntable cover hinges barely hold it up while changing albums.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to stiffen 'em up?

Take It Off

Take it off, they cause vibrations on most turntables.

Pull the hinges out of the TT and look at the bottom. Some are adjustable with a screw to increase/decrease the spring tension.

If that doesn't work, try Toze idea...

Examine the mount for the hinges. On my Luxman, the plastic was cracked on the hinge where the hinge slid over the dustcover. I drilled a couple of holes for screws, and applied some epoxy to the hinge. The screws and epoxy make it stronger than original.
