Telarc 1812 LP Tracking Success

I am a little shocked. I procured a fairly clean copy of the legendary Telarc recording of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. Much to my surprise, my humble Technics SL 1300 TT tracked the canon blasts almost perfectly. The secret being the new Jico SAS stylus I purchased to replace the old and worn out Super Track Plus stylus on my Shure V15 type 3. There is some slight mistracking on the final canon blast, but the stylus never seems to jump out of the groove. I increased the tracking force to 1.5 grams, the maximum that's specified for the SAS, but it also tracked fine at 1.25 grams.

Anyone else had fun playing this legendary LP? What gear did you use?

That extremely warped copy being played back is amazing to watch. And it did not mistrack once! That Numark turntable is pretty neat. I'll post the video I just put on YouTube of my Technics SL 1300 with Shure V15 type 3 and Jico SAS stylus, with less than 10 hours of use.

The only set-up I had that successfully played the cannon shots was my long-gone VPI HW19 with the AudioQuest PT6 arm and original Sumiko Blue Point Special.
 
I bought that album when it first came out and played it on my Pioneer PL-7 turntable with a light B&O cartridge (I forget which model). It never skipped at all.

I played the disc again last year on my Lenco L-75 with an ADA MG-1 Linear Tracking Air Bearing tonearm and a Denon DL-103R cartridge. Again no skipping, maybe I got lucky.

I haven't tried it on my Thorens TD-146 with stock tonearm and Ortofon OM-30 Super or my Denon DP-2000 with Infinity Black Widow tonearm and Denon DL-110 cartridge. It would be a good test.
 
Sony PS-X800 and VDH. 1812 was one of my (test all the turntables ) I can afford to buy,back in the day. That combo sounded best, to me.
