Hey fellow chatters,
We all know AK will be down this weekend, chat included; addon requires the database to authenticate users; and the database will be down as part of the upgrade. We are switching to something non-Java; but it will be the last thing done to the site after the upgrade is figured out.
So, for the duration of the outage; I've set up the usual IRC temporary spot. For those not familiar with IRC; here's how you access it:
Visit http://chat.mibbit.com
enter your username for nick
enter "#audiokarma" for the channel (yes, the # sign is required, the " are not).
You'll be dumped in to the temporary AK chat.
If you use IRC; irc.mibbit.net - port 6667 - #audiokarma
We (Rob Nester and I) will keep this chat running for the duration of the outage; plus as long as chat is down.
I'm theorizing the backdoor link for AddOnChat will begin working after the database is upgraded; if it hasn't changed too much for it. But it's possible that after tomorrow night; it's the last time we'll ever use that horrible java system.
