Tesla Spirit Radio - a bizarre little project!

Just found this online. Has anyone ever built one of these Tesla "spirit" radios? What was your experience with it?

Looks very interesting; it's a combination of old crystal-radio and new computer technologies, and it gives some freaky sound effects. Might even be adapted for Halloween use!

I suspect you can build a version of it, since there are instructions, parts lists and videos --including ones of them working-- online. They do admit to substituting modern parts for the things that Tesla used, which would be difficult to find/make today. The circuitry is similar, the function the same, the effect pretty much the same... but you're right, it's not an exact copy. An exact reproduction would be fun, but difficult.

I'm just teasing about the spirit radio thingy but Tesla did have a very profound effect on our modern age. It's amazing what was science fact over a hundred years ago is science fiction today.
