My step-dad recently passed away from a short but hard fought battle with cancer and while going through some of his things I came across his old hifi system. I brought it home and wanted to test everything out. As my mom had never seen any of it, I knew that nothing had been used it at least 21 years. I've discovered that everything needs work and it's over my abilities right now. Everything is in excellent cosmetic condition Pioneer pl-570, Pioneer ct-f700, and a Pioneer SA-9500 II. There are also some Bose 601s which need refoaming and cleaning. Anyways, I hooked up my turntable to the SA-9500 and it worked OK, but perhaps I set the cartidge load too high and now the tweeters in my Cambridge Soundworks M60s no longer work. I looked at the crossover and I can't see any signs of a burnout, but I tried hooking up another speaker to the wires and no sound. Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated. And if anyone knows of someone who can work on the other items in the Huntington Beach, California area please let me know. I'd love to get the other items up and running.
