Testing PA Speaker's Ohms

So i've had my PA speakers tested for ohms and 1 of them read 5.5 ohms and the other reads 5.9 ohms they are supposed to be 8 ohms should I worry about that or is that about normal? They was never played very loud since they was always used at home. Since anyway I will be buying a Crown amp soon for them I alway had to disconnect my current Crown amp to use them but it's been awhile since I used them.

What you measured is DC resistance not impedance. The DC resistance you measured is in the ballpark for "8 ohm" speakers.

Is there a way to test a speaker for its impedance or is this the way most people do it? Since I was always told use a multimeter to test the ohms of a speaker since I don't test that kind of stuff hardly at all just when i'm really needing to.

The easiest method is to just Google the make and model number; since there's so much documentation available online, even for vintage equipment. If not, measuring the DC resistance is how most people do it.

Method 2 of this article tells how to do it properly, but it's probably a lot more complicated than you want to get into.
