I've been into stereo's since I was a kid, my prized possession when I was a kid was a set of fisher speakers and a Sansui receiver I had. Man I wish I had half the stereo's I owned growing up at this point. Fast forward 20 years and I picked up a set of mint KG4's for 20 bucks. Paired it with a AirPlay (for my iTunes library) enabled Yamaha receiver and a 10" Klipsch sub and I was mostly satisfied for the past few years, budget being a heavy factor.
That all changed the other night. Picked up a few McIntosh (2205, C32) pieces with out even paying the tax on what they should cost, plus a Yamaha YP- 801. All mostly working - McIntosh pieces going in the shop Saturday. A barn was about to be tore down - thats were all this came from. I originally passed on the ADS 910's (that were with the Mcintosh stuff) mostly because they were beat up but also because I'd never heard of them. But after snooping around on AK it seems they were worth another look, and the price was cheap. But, I now see what Im spending money on the next few month's - thanks AK. Cant wait to build and listen to some good vinyl.
So, the question is - Do I restore the 910's ??? Have the LED's and the stands. Just in rough shape. Although the electronic boards looks real good. Paper seems allright. Have the grilles.
