Thanksgiving Greetings from Germany

jhtstone, no, we do not have a similar celebration.

On first Sunday in October we celebrate the "Erntedankfest", some sort of harvest fest, but it is rather religious. People decorate the chancel with fruits and grapes and vegetables in order to thank the Lord for the food items.

So aptly put by Chris, ETLS, & many others on what this season means. So many of us will celebrate today alone, but thank the Lord for family, friends, & those who comfort us during this wonderful time of the year.

The unselfishness shown to those who are less fortunate goes hand in hand with a heart of humility & gratitude for what we have been blessed with.

To Chris & all of you remember your blessings & ever be mindful to pray for one another as we celebrate a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for your thoughts, HK.

Thanksgiving best wishes to all who celebrate or appreciate that. I was fortunate to receive a text with embedded pic of my son James' Thanksgiving meal. He is in the US Army in Kuwait (could end up in a more hazardous location soon). He says the conditions and food there are pretty good. The pic of him is older, from training in the US.

Onward James! (Where have I heard that before?)
