The Art of Noise.

similost

Rockin and Rollin....
Sitting here listening to an Art of Noise album.. yeah.. wow.. great sounding.. BUT...

I knew these big ass horns were something special for sound, but this album just BLEW ME AWAY...

Until you get a chance to hear air horns on horns, with some really decent wattage behind them... WOAH.. Eye opening.. and ear opening too.. Like having a bunch of semi's driving through my living room.... OH.. and speaking of driving.. the dragster they have at the end of one track panning from right to left at serious RPM... DAMN!!!! the rush of it going by messed up my hair, not to mention took away my breath from the pressure in my chest..

After that little drive by.. I know these horns and bass bins will never go anywhere...

Amazing the engineering on their albums!

That doesn't sound like anything I want to hear.

Seriously, I'm always game to hear new music as long as it's not ICP. :D

I'll check 'em out. Thanks

LOL.. ICP is one of my favorites too...

Art of noise uses a lot of industrial sounds to create their music with. parts of this album, they use different tuned air horns to make the melody with.. and on horn speakers, stunning is about all I can say... very very realistic, and punchy... I've got air horns on my bike. and these sound better than a real horn does..

Check them out on Youtube..

Here's a sample.. http://youtube.com/watch?v=RIcmIhOesaI

They also do the Peter Gun theme, and of course Pyromania with Max Headroom.. but they have a lot of really great more obscure stuff..

How about Paranoimia? Pyromania was Def Leppard. The album "In Visible Silence" is the one with that one on it. Great disc.

They also did a version of Prince's "Kiss" with Tom Jones. Good stuff.

I liked that song AON had in the early-mid '80s that had this VERY punk-ass little girl, & they took sledgehammers, saws, etc to this piano...Bizarre & cool !

That would have been "Close to the Edit." They destroy a baritone saxophone in that video too, used it to bang on the piano.

I've got a 12" single of "Moments in Love." IIRC, it notes on the record label that the song was from the movie Pumping Iron 2: The Women.

I have the blue Best of which I really like. There's a Pink Best of to add to the confusion.

The blue version has longer versions of Peter Gunn, Kiss, Paranomia. Plus it includes Close to the Edit

im also a big fan of the art of noise, I like moments in love to test my sound system , at studio, at home, or in the installations where i tweak (like the nightclub where i work)

Beatbox, Something always happens, are also a few of my tops, Trevor Horn, a genius,

I like the Drum and bass album too..
