I heard word from Javad Shadzi, a prolific professional and DIY audio contributor, that an even more prolific professional and DIY contributor, Jeff Bagby, passed away earlier today. This is terribly sad news. I know Jeff wasn't a frequent visitor here, but I can tell you with certainty that if you have ever attempted to design or build your own speakers or audio equipment, Jeff had in some way been an author, co-author, or reviewer to the research behind that work. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Jeff's technical analyses over the years. He was a great teacher, and he really loved it when someone succeeded with one of his design ideas.

To a true Audio All-Star. Rest In Peace, Jeff.

I’m very sorry to hear this! While I don’t recall having any direct contact with Jeff, the loss of someone like him diminishes us all! RIP.

I absolutely love the audio diy scene. So I'm sure I read from folks who benefited from the fellow. Heck I may well have read his very posts and didnt know it was he.

Really sad to hear he passed.

Reminds me of a Nelson Pass type who is also an active contributor to such community. World would be a better place if such wise minds were kind enough to be active in such communities.

Jeff was like the Nelson Pass of speakers. Very giving of his knowledge and experience

I just read a few articles about Jeff. I didn't know him, but I wish I had. Sounds like great guy who wouldn't let anything get the best if him while he lived with some severe health issues. RIP sir.

I did have the pleasure of talking with Jeff several times if only briefly to share cheesy math jokes talk a bit about speakers that was way over my head, yet he had a way of simplifying the topic to get me up as many steps of the ladder as I was ready for. A gifted teacher, and designer and lover of life and people. for having had such a small time with him, his memory swings back nearly daily in one way or another. RIP beautiful soul!
