One of the best amplifier designers produced some of the best power amplifiers ever, over fifty years ago! BONGIORNO. My favorites were SAE (Scientific Audio Electronics) and GAS (Great American Sound).

One of the BEST technical engineers that knows and understands these amplifiers, and is able to return these amps back to the performance levels that Bongiorno intended, is Craig Tathwell of Audiokarma fame.

I highly recommend Craig as your source for circuit test and correction of these amplifiers, and their associated pre-amps, tuners & equalizers.

Big sound on a small budget.

My small SAE system is wonderful! Thank you Craig for refreshing this little monster (XXXIB) paired with the IXB which is fed by my streaming tablet through a Cobalt Dragonfiy DAC.

My brother-in-law's dad told me recently that he bought a GAS Son of Ampzilla new long ago. I seem to recall that he still has it somewhere and pulls it out occasionally to make sure it still shakes the house.
