The best P-mount table???

You hear a lot about this table and that, but never about what was the best P-mount turntable. So - I'm going throw the question out there. What is the best P-mount table in your experience (no universal carts here - straight P-mount only tables)?

I had a Technics SL-M1 that was a very well built table. They are rather rare!

I'd say Jon's right, Technics SL-M1 or M2 if pivoting, Technics SL-M3 if linear tracking.
If your budget is tighter, look for a SL-QL1 or SL-7 close & play.

Yeah, it's pretty much going to be a Technics. They developed the T4P standard so they had ample reason to offer higher end applications of the technology.

Other worthy tables beyond the M Series are the SL-QX200 and 300 for radials and the SL-10 for tangentials.

The other SL-M table, the SL-MA1, is also very nice. I have one in my office at work, currently with a Dynavector DV-10P HOMC cartridge. It is full auto, with full adjustments for VTF and anti-skate on the arm.

The best one ever made, by some margin, was the Technics SL-1000Mk3D. It's a combination of the SP-10Mk3 turntable, with the p-mount EPA-102MK3 tonearm, and the SH-10B5 obsidian base. See http://audio-heritage.jp/TECHNICS/player/sl-1000mk3d.html (put it through a translation).
