I have a Pickering XV15/625E with a D100 stylus and a Stanton 680EE with a D680 stylus.Which of the two is the better cart?.The two turntables I have are Project/One DR-V(Hitachi PS-38)and a like new Sansui FR-1080.What would be the best combo and whats the better turntable? I also have a new Audio-Technica AT92E cart.

The Pickering XV-15 and the Stanton 680EE cartridges are the same. The difference is in the styli that you have. The Pickering D100 is a heavyish tracking .7 mil conical while the D680 is a light tracking .3 x .7 mil elliptical, coincidentally the same as the D625E stylus that originally came with your XV-15.

I think the cartridges will perform equally well on either table. The difference would be in what you ask them to perform. The Stanton would be my choice for stereo LPs in good condition. The Pickering for mono LPs or those in not the best shape and for 45s.

The AT92E isn't quite in the same league as your Stanterings (or is that Pickertons?) but it's perfectly okay. In fact, it might be the one to use if the stylus condition of the others is not so good or unknown.

The Phase Linear is probably the better of your two tables though there's nothing wrong with either. Use the one that sounds best to you.
