The C-60 and M-70

I recently purchased a Yamaha C-60 pre-amp and Yamaha M-70 amplifier.

Boy what a clear sound that M-70 is! I have two Carver TFM-35x 250 watt amps coming off of two Yamaha C-50s but this M-70 sounds just as, if not more clear than the Carvers.

The only thing that I wasn't happy about the M-70 is how you can't have both sets of speakers playing at the same time. As well as how small the speaker wire outputs are. I use 8/12 gauge wire, so that was rather upsetting.

The guillotine speaker wire twist connectors on the M-70 are its biggest downfall. Replace them with some nice Vampirewire binding posts and you'll be all set.

Yeah, I understand about the amp design but just wasn't aware of the speaker selector being either a or b, but not both.

Thanks for the info! I agree with the connectors. They are terrible, especially with the gauge of wire I use. I'll have to check out the Vampire Wire you recommended.

Edit: What product would I purchase for my M-70?

In what manner of speaking will the M-70 "not handle 4 ohm and lower load very easily"?
I have a M-70 running a 4 ohm Infinity Quantum 2 which supposedly has impedance dips down to 2 ohms. No problemo:)
