The console express....

Hey double A,
I haven't opened up the speakers so
I'm not sure how to access the innards.

Glad you got to enjoy Bailey Island.
I believe the Blue Heron is right in my neighborhood.
Although at 2 1/2 miles long & 1/2 mile wide
it's really just one big neighborhood.
Starting to cool off now but
the ocean usually keeps it 10 - 15 degrees warmer
than the mainland in Winter,
if you discount the wind chill from
fierce ocean breezes.

Here ya go Red....

That Magnavox is one clean looking console - both in condition and styling. Certainly one of the nicest I have seen. I looked through all my Magnavox info and was not able to identify that model. I see you acquired some literature with it - are the model and year specified?

$269.00 for the console and $69 for the outboard speaker. Written right on the brochure....Lotta money back then....

If you want, I can either try and scan the whole brochure or take hi rez pix and e-mail it to you. This brochure is like the console itself, a time capsule. It's like it was printed yesterday.....:thmbsp:

Any desire to start a maggie database like the Fisher one???...:D

BTW, the brochure says "MST-859" on the back. August 1959 maybe? All the tubes are 1958 manufacture.....

TheRed, what is the model of that console? I want one! It is by far one of the neatest Maggie Table consoles I have seen!

AA, I will be the first one to uncerimoniously part out a pretty console, but that maggie sure looks sharp and doesn't seem to take up much space. I think you could do a nice slow restoration of the power amp and tuner! Remember to add aux ins and speaker outs so you can use the amp too:thmbsp:

Update....

Had to move things around for Thanksgiving company. thought I'd get a shot of the refinished record cabinet.

Also, the Service Manual finally came into my possession today, so as soon as I finish one other small long delayed project, the Allegro restore is next....:thmbsp:

Something to look forward to around Christmas....

Nice work Allan! I just finished my second Fisher cabinet. The finish came out so good I'm keeping it. Care to guess what is going in there? Hint: you have one too.
