Ask Procter and Gamble about the impact of packaging on product sales. MD certainly didn't do their homework on that one! From your pic, I assumed the antenna was, indeed, inside a paper towel roll to keep it from tipping over.

Kinda doubt anyone else here has-Or would want-a Rohde & Schwarz EK-07 military tube/transistor shortwave receiver. Or a 1954 Collins R-389/URR LF/MW receiver, or even a 1935 RCA AR-60...There were only 1K of the EK-07s made, maybe 2-3 dozen on this side of the pond, supposedly 700 R-389s made, I've seen maybe half-a-dozen come up for sale over the years. The AR-60 was made in 1935 as RCA's TOTL SW receiver. Supposedly 2-300 made-at $495 apiece, BIG money back then, a new Ford roadster that year was like $650-& there are maybe 6 survivors known.

Guess the rarest piece i have is my PIONEER PL-25/F IDLER DRIVE Turntable from 1968. Only reference to it is in a GERMAN Catalog. No it's not a PL-25 or PL-25E(both of these were BELT DRIVE's.

Damn solid table. After a clean up, and Lube, it's quieter than my DUAL 1219 and a lot more reliable. Very Simple, Very Basic. And it's dead on for speed.

I saw it and just had to have it. Cost me an arm, a leg & a kidney.

The Pioneer crossover is a jem, and also cost me an arm, a leg & a kidney. It, however, serves its duty on my main rig, 'till I find the right speakers that have the right bass.

haven't seen one of those in a long time. they were a very good company back then i heard. my dad use to own a altec lansing receiver/amp. not sure which one but he paid 700 bucks for it back in the 70's as his first stereo system...too bad he doesn't own it anymore and have no idea where it went.

to me my 1976 h500 craig am/fm component stereo receiver

i don't know how rare or unusual this piece is but i never see this name mention before or at all among audio equipment. i assume it's an odd ball out of the other brands and cause it uses component connectors instead of speaker terminals

I've had a decent Craig receiver. It was my parents' basement system until I upgraded them with some nice late 70s Pioneer stuff.

English 1950s (?) Tape head degausser.

Supplied by company in Leeds, Yorkshire in the "standard finish of hammered oyster grey".

I got this for vrtually nothing from a retired schoolteacher in our town who sold me about 20 Maxell reels (recordings of operas, mainly, made on Revox).

didn't know that. thanx for the info. as for this receiver i have. it is a very good receiver to my ears. powered 6 3-way 8ohm 50w speakers(floor and bookshelf) just fine last time i used it before letting my dad use it.

had much more power then i expected from this little thing. has both options of ceramic and magnetic inputs which i found out to be rare before they start tyeing the ceramic input as AUX/CD/Play/ect.

got it from my uncle cause i was looking around for a nice vintage stereo receiver. called family members before i decided if i had to go out and buy one. lucky i did. he had it in his attic with some 3-way floor speakers i also grabbed. stuff was in mint condition and cause his attic was very very clean.

Woops! Apologies - it's the bulk tape eraser I have.

I did get a tape head demagnetizer shortly afterwards from ebay. Sony, probably 1960s/70s.
