I have been a fan of Frank Herbert for about 55 years. Knowing the story by heart you can expand this trailer into the book, and I like what I am seeing. On Arrakis The House Atreides used Ornithopters for transportation planet side. None of the other adaptations got it right. Well as you will see in this trailer this time they nailed it, Dragon Flies. My mind snapped to the strange TV series Lexx (1996-2002). I am looking forward to this one.

Goosebumps...

Pink Floyd? Seems odd, but I guess it will work. Yes to the ornithopters. That was one thing in the Lynch movie that really didn't work for me, not at all like the book's description. The highliner ships (is that the right term?) look right too, and the great worm is scary as hell. Speaking of scary - Dave Bautista looks great as The Beast. Oscar Isaac fits as Duke Leto. I liked Kyle Machlachlan's Paul, but Chalamet should be good. Lots of other really good actors, but the LOOK of the movie is fantastic. Really looking forward to this one. December 18 seems so far away...

The Movies actual soundtrack is from My number 1 favorite stateside film music composer .Hans Zimmer. In pre-release trailers they don't often use the music from the Movie it's self. My guess if Pink Floyd's music is used in the movie it might be in the final credits, we will see.

I might have to see this one.......

Still enjoy the orignal film, the tv series not so much.

I really need to read the books. I've heard so many good things about them.
I liked David Lynch's movie, but I'm a big Lynch fan, and didn't have a proper story reference.
And of course Lynch is going to tweek it to his style.

I loved the first movie. I own different versions of it. Extended......ect. A rather sad story. A transformed planet, and nobody is happier in the end. Of coirse that is brought out in Children of Dune. Some great one liners I use every so often. "The sleeper has awakend". "Tried and died". And Sting asking "The Righteous?"

Same here, though maybe not as many versions, but a few.

Something to look forward to in this godawful year. :beerchug:

In the David Lynch Dune (1984) The battle suits worn by the Sardaukar had an interesting origin. In a decades closed LA Fire station used for storage. In this warehouse were found unused fire suits they were 40 plus years old and were deteriorated beyond use. The production company for Dune got wind of this and here was a cheap Sardaukar suit. These suits smelled like "The Bog of Eternal Stench". They caused technicolor yawns by many of extras wearing them.
