I just wanted to say that they need to be gone through completely or don't waste your time and money.
By the way; Their built like a Singer sewing machine. The board work is fairly easy to access.
They built them over three years and there are changes. The one I saw first is the capstan motor speed board, built into the motor housing. It uses the AN6610 speed control which is only available through eBay. You can mod up a AN6652 (Which is no longer in production) but it's easier to buck up and spend $25 on the Matsushita control. Especially if someone else is buying it. If the tape speed is way fast or intermittent, the controller is bad. The Snap action switches can go high and cause issues. Just replace them.
I've had three of these to get back up and running and enjoyed the experience. The first one was tough.
If you want a guy to go through it. expect to pay up.
WJOE has the belts and tires. You'll have to ask for the tires. They are not in the catalog.
That's all I got to say about that. :whip:

I love mine, it's a daily driver for me! I put athan rollers on mine which work nicely but I’ve since read some negatives about them. On a year and fine so far. I always buy wjoe belts for all my projects.I also did a full recap( yes, I know :) ) and took the motor apart for a good cleaning and set the speed with a test rig and tape. I have 2 more units for future parts raiding to keep it going for years to come!
