The Fisher 100 Microceiver

turnitup

No, the stereo won’t break the crystal...Oh CRAP!
2A09B8C7-08F3-4F20-9498-78CDA1016A9B.jpeg I picked up a nice little Fisher 100 Microceiver radio a few months back and was getting around to cleaning it. I noticed the serial number on the back and was wondering if I had one of the first releases of a series upgrade, or if it is just random a “draw of the numbers”. Serial number 17001B. Probably no way of ever knowing, but thought I’d throw the question out to my expert friends...

I’ve heard good things about these, and am looking forward to cleaning it up and listening to it!

Fisher tended to start a new unit with serial # 10001, and do 10,000 unit lots per manual. I've seen very few of these radios so no idea of how many made.

I listen to mine in my work room, mostly NPR. Some say it sounds better than the more popular KLH models! Nice wood cabinet and AFC makes it rock steady. Enjoy.

Hiya,

I have a couple of these and they are pretty good performers.

A quick note::

While these have Germanium outputs they can be had easily pretty cheap at the moment. (Maybe 10 bucks a pair)

If you want to keep it I would grab a couple while the getting is good. Maybe also the drivers which are easy to source as I remember.

Frannie
