The Fisher Tube Amp

A friend of mine gave me this Fisher amp. I noticed it in the corner of his garage in a pile of other metal headed for the recycle center. He found in in the attic of house he had purchased. The house had belonged to an elderly woman who had taught music classes at her house many years ago. I told him it would be a shame to scrap it and was able to talk him out of it.

The model is a Fisher 200A. I believe it is a 60W Monoblock It obviously in pretty rough shape. Although it is not beat all to hell, it does need a complete overhaul.

Does anybody have any idea on the value as is, and whether or not it would make sense (dollar wise) to have it put back into working order. I can't find a whole lot of information on this particular unit, nor any good pricing history on working refurbished units. I don't want to trash the unit!

:jawdrop: It's worth whatever amount of money you throw at it to restore it. Highly desirable, and very rare amp. It is indeed a 60W monoblock, EL34 based. One of the very best products from Fisher, IMO. Good luck finding a second if you want to run stereo.

I'd figure it's worth at least $1200-1500 in decent unrestored condition, with no damaged transformers. Difficult to say, they don't come to market often.

What beautiful, large, voluptuous, pieces of iron. It needs a little bit of love but is gorgeous. I hope you find it's sister.

I think I am going to be passing this unit on to someone who can really utilize it they way it should be. Having this one refurbished, and then buying a second one is going to be out of my budget

That was over 5 years ago so chances are he did if that was his intention since they seem to be highly regarded.

Hahaha, another resurrection of the dead thread. I guess it's easy to miss when the last posting was made. Looks like drums4reed has one in the avatar. Very nice and rare amp.

My guess is he's too exited about his new to him Fisher that he's not bothering to look at the last posting date and wants to let everyone know.

A couple of days ago he's dragged some other older threads too

It's easy to get excited when the Google machine hits on an item you have or recently acquired and the wanting to chime in hits.
Pretty sure I've done it.
I try to gently point out that it was a while ago, and if the poster hasn't been here recently I'll mention that.

Sorry just looking for some Info I've decided to keep the Fisher 200 and my tech tells me I need a new choke transformer model L507-113c if anybody would be kind enough to tell me where I might locate one or give me a cross reference number I would appreciate it if I to restore the app

Here's a parts list description of that choke. Mouser or Digikey would be a place to look for something similar. Give them a call maybe.
