Hey all,
I haven't been able to find really clear cut answers on this matter (and am expecting some varying responses), but I'll give it a shot anyway.
Between the most well known brands of stereo gear (and to be more specific, I'm mostly curious about 1970's - early 80's models), what are the distinctive general sound characteristics of say, a Pioneer amp/receiver versus a Kenwood? Or a Yamaha vs a Marantz?
I've read some people describe Pioneer as a bit bright, Kenwood and Marantz a bit warm, and Yamaha as neutral. Is this even accurate? What about other brands?
I have a feeling that this could get pretty model specific, and that there are tons of other variables at play (such as speakers used, and EQ settings), but I'm hoping to get at least a somewhat better understanding of what people mean when they say something like "The Kenwood sound", etc, etc...
