The lifespan of scope of Marantz 4400 and other unit

Just curious, if I use the Marantz 4400 at day by day bases (1-2 hours), how long will it last?

Got a used 4400, the scope is still pretty good. Bright and focus. However, reading the comments and manual, it recommend to turn off the scope to extend the life.

So my question is that, anyone knows the normal lifespan of those scopes? Any 4400 owner noticed the fade of the scopes after years of use?

The tube in my 4400 is original, I had to sub a tube into Vintageplus's unit. Turning the scope off doesn't cut power to it, it simply moves the display off center. It will certainly help the display to shut it off - as far as the high voltage stuff you can't get around it. The majority of the scope failures are either fuses, blown transistors/fets or shorting of the connector- CRT's last for YEARS. If it goes you can get a new socket, some rewiring and a 2BP1 scope tube which are common and affordable. If it is "bright" you can turn it down so it's just visible , that will also help, pot in the back.

Two issues, display burning and heater burn out... Display burning is far more common. Some times the deflection circuits fail.

Having owned many scoped units. They all wear, but it depends on what condition the scope is in to start with when you bought it. Most will last many thousands of hours.

You should keep the intensity as low as possible to avoid as much scope burning as possible. And keep it focused too.

Also display modes that move around more (audio) are less likely to burn the display than static displayed (signal strength).

My 20 and 10b have some burning. Already replace the scope on the 10 once before. The 18/19/20's scope is hard to find. The 4400 has a Russian sub that is close and a commonly available old stock RCA that is close. Original nos is next to impossible.

There are plenty of replacement nos scopes for the 10b, as it was used a lot in different applications.

I have spares for the 10b and 4400..... Not for the others :(

My 2130 is 35 years old. I have the Brightness on the screen dot set as 'barely visible' and in sharp focus as suggested in the Owners Manual. Still going strong. No burn.
The Scope on Marantz units are never really off as the rear of the scope tube is always lit. You can wire a switch to the Scope transformer to kill the current to the tube, but you may never need to replace the tube under normal conditions ( no component or transformer failure).
