The MC1.25KW Circular Mac-Brand "Coaster" Badge

Maybe anyone who has these magnificent amps (joeinid?) can explain to me the thinking behind this decor touch. To me (and I'm an idiot most of the time), the prominent, front-of-top, visual impact of this bold circle's contours clashes with the block-of-granite aura of this imposing unit. Maybe I'm just an old square (no pun intended), and don't get it.

As a former marketing guy, I can only suppose that Mac wanted an easy way for folks to visually discern the MC1.25KW from its predecessor, the MC1.2KW. Anyone have a better explanation?

I actually loved the looks of the amps. Not at first but as time passed, I started liking them. I think Livio Cucuzza of Sonus Faber fame had a hand in the design of the new amps.

Indeed a tall boy at that, wrapped in brown paper sack too! Now that would be the sign of true art appreciation and man of discerning taste,who is willing to flaunt it.

All this PBR talk is making me hungry for the 5 dollar tall boy and fried baloney sandwich while listening to old school country at Robert’s Western World in Nasville. Sophia Loren picturing a PBR between two bigger coasters.

Agree. The circle badge has Sf written all over it. Look at the top of the Amati Tradition/Serafino/Guarneri. Same thing. They were inspired by Italian racing boats, apparently. It’s too bad because IMO it seriously distracts from the beauty of the MC1.25kw. Why mess with perfection? Guess it doesn’t matter as some will prefer the old 1.2 sonically anyhow. If it were me, I would stick with the 1.2kw.
