The ad actually claims only 2000 watts RMS which is not unusual for pro amps in class G mode. See http://www.behringer.com/EN/Category/Power-Amplifiers.aspx?s=C200

You can get a pro amp for a few hundred and the speakers for a few hundred more, so this price is high for what it is. Not a good deal, but not exactly false advertising from the looks of it, just hyped.
 
2000 watts from a modern amplifier isn't anything unusual, but with all that marketing hype and those speakers which look like they'd blow up with anything over 50?

Nah. Bet it'd sound like ass, too.
 
I had that system, if you can even dare to call the "most powerful home stereo system in the world", just a system.

I sold it, as I'm now legally deaf in one ear, and completely deaf in the other.

The price is pretty reasonable considering it comes with the sluts in the photo's.

Mini systems of all stripes are wildly popular all over the world. I was surprised by how popular they are in Australia for example. They come in all stripes and fashion colors for the white-goods-store shoppers. Hey, we got Bose in this country. Hype and convenience sells. To each their own. I bet if you play at normal levels it is no worse than your typical Wally world special. It's the price that is objectionable.
 
What a PITA that system would be since you would need to run it on a dedicated 30A circuit!

Although I still find it odd that 2000 watts of juice would be okay running through speaker cables that thin.

Awesome. The amp is spec'd to put out 2000W RMS while only drawing 320W from the wall. It must be class FM (F****ing Magic).

i think the 20 ga speaker wire with proprietary connectors really show the quality.
 
I just thought this was rather funny. I too thought the speaker wire was incredibly thin, the lights were cheesy, etc. With 2000 watts (for real) those speakers would probably turn into a steaming puddle of plastic.
