the most underated receivers?

I vote for h/k 630, an amazying sounding/performing little thing and well builded
even with my Dynaudios to more then middle volumes!

My Pioneer QX 8000 Quad and SX-6000 2-channel sister
Had loads of fun this past year with this early 70's lineup
Been very plaesed with them. Never miss a chance to buy 'em. Gave a 8000 to a friend. Have a parts unit, and use a 2nd one as a preamp. Got yet another on the bench waiting for new light bulbs from Bob at Vintage 
Got the front channels going. The tuner sections are both a go. Love the sound this series puts out. Eric

The technician sneared at it when he saw it thrown on the bench in the emergency room at a tech shop in E. Massachusetts. Ooooh, aren't these house brand boxes that Tech HiFi used to hawk, he asked. Once the case was open, however, he was amazed to see a really fine amp design and a very well appointed tuner. I wouldn't say the NR-1015 is the most under-rated receiver but the NR series really deserve a lot more recognition than they got.

Under appreciated: Some of the early Fisher Studio Standard stuff such as the RS-1060 and RS-2010 (series later became CRAP plastic) and lower-wattage Sansuis such as the 5050, a few of the 80s black-plastic pieces (such as Proton, I've heard they did OEM work for NAD)

In 1969, after my apartment was burglarized, I went out and bought a Kenwood receiver. At first, it was OK but after a few years the FM section began to sound pretty bad so I went shopping again. This time I came home with a Sansui 771. I used it for many years until I went back to separates and gave it away. I am sorry I did. It was a great receiver for the money and I wish I still had it. So the Sansui 771 has my vote.

In my opinion MCS-- Modular Component Systems...
I have the 3233 model which to my eyes and ears is far superior to the near new Pioneer "crap" that I have. Then again my Luxman 1040 and Marantz 2252 both blow the pioneer away as well. I just don't understand modern power ratings at all. Give me the old Vintage stuff any day.
