The New Bond?

Who are you rooting for? My hope is Daniel Craig doesn't walk away from the role but I know he wants to do other things. In Knives Out I thought he was great and he is reprising his role in a sequel so maybe he stays or goes.(Cue up The Clash here)
Daniel Craig and Sean Connery are my two favorite Bonds and I think for me it's because they were great in there role but also because they were virtual unknowns.
Anyway I'm hoping Tom Hardy gets the nod but with the Venom sequel and another season of Taboo he may be too busy. Anyway who are some actors you would like the franchise to consider. I heard the lead actor in Snake Eyes is now on the Bond list.

A lot of the previous Bond stars have now passed, or are too old for the role -
and while I think Daniel Craig was superb, as long as he is leaving anyway,
I still have hope for Idris Elba ( Sept 6, 1972 -age 48 years).
I think he really captures that raw brutality of Bond in the Fleming novels,
much as Connery did.

Daniel Craig - March 2, 1968 (age 53 years)
Pierce Brosnan - May 16, 1953 (age 68 years)
Timothy Dalton - March 21, 1946 (age 75 years)
George Lazenby - Sept 5, 1939 (age 81)
Roger Moore - 14 October 1927 – 23 May 2017
Sean Connery - 25 August 1930 – 31 October 2020

But, that was the point of Bond. He was supposed to be just that. I mean the books were written in the 1950-60's era.
Don"t disagree at all, but in today's world that just makes him look like a comic book character. The 50"s were a vary different time.

How about a remake of On Her Majesty's Secret Service starring Liam Neesan. In the remake, his wife is killed in the first ten minutes and Bond goes on a vengeful killing spree of all the super villains. End of the Bond Series. Until the sequel is made....

I was hoping Sean Connery would do one more movie. Something like they'd come to him in his retirement for 1 more mission . To save the world. He could have done it easily into his early 70's and he could have died in the end. . Would have been a great movie.

I don't think many were ready for a blonde 007 but Craig's portrayal in the movie Casino Royale, while different than the normal 007, was in line with the book's theme and caused me to become a fan of the blonde 007. Can anyone even imagine the womanizing 007 of Sean Connery falling in love?

There was his "boat payment" movie with Nicolas Cage.

That movie was pretty good as I remember.
It was on my short list of the most laughably improbable films I'd seen. The chaotic chases nobody notices combined with an improbably ridiculous running steam engine in an abandoned prison made it look like it was made by a B list associate action director with no feature length film experience, all patched together with a manic actor that left his teeth marks on everything but the cameras.
