Hello to all. The Ns 500m's hit the deck at around noon today. As I have never been around this model of speaker I must admit my surprise at both their size and weight. The next hour was spent unpacking ( these things are damm heavy), setting them up on their stands, toe in and all of that. Hooked them up to the PA 7 amp, and away we go. I spent the next 2 hrs listening to them and not doing anything else as to not miss any of the details of their sound reproduction. This was their exam and I wanted to catch it all. I am very very happy with their sound but I am not able to hear a big diffrence between sound of the NS 500's and my NS 200m' or the NS 200 MA speakers that I have owned for many years and love. ( will never sell ). The bass may be a bit more up front in the 500's due to the 12" woofer vs the 10" woofers in the 200's. The mids and highs were cystral clear with out any coloration at all ,I think the 200m and 500m share a common tweeter? They were not to bright on the highs nor were they dull sounding. I hate dull sounding speakers. I have searched a very long time for a good pair of these and was worried that I may have overpaid for them but not anymore!!! I must ask how much better is the NS 1000M compaired to these. Im not sure what more detail to the music there is to find from a spkr and if so how is it described?. Comments welcomed!!!! Anyone know where I can have the front grills repaired correctly, mine has a rather large hole in it. Thanks in advance
