The Pros and Cons of Hitchiking

Originally offered up as one of two choices of a concept album for Pink Floyd to record (they chose the other one, The Wall), I am amazed how voiced it is like a Floyd album.

Yes, Roger Waters had some heavy influence in Floyd's oveall sound even with Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of The Moon, but Hitchiking sounds like an extension of Floyd's body of work, with only slight emphasis on Water's influence.

You guys agree or disagree?

Just spun it this morning (5am) on vinyl and througH some vintage AKG 240 Sextetts.

Only disappointment is I have the censored cover.

It has been a long time since I have listened to it, but since it was written when he was a member of Floyd it makes sense that it sounds like Floyd. If the band had not split up it just might have been Floyd.

I saw the tour, Eric Clapton on Guitar. One set of Floyd music and one set was the Pros and Cons. The encore was songs from Darkside if I remember it correctly. Eric played like a stand in Floyd member, not a single bar of Clapton material was played. They even played some Barret era Floyd songs. Might have been Careful With That Axe.. or Set the Controls... or both, I cant remember exactly, it was over 25 years ago. I do remember after the show a friend who only knew the Darkside/Animals/Wall material wondering what albums those songs from.
