The Rise and Fall of Popular Music

[chicks]

Found this interesting site today:

http://www.donaldclarkemusicbox.com/

Interesting encyclopedia of popular music, great, well written history of the same, and more. Especially interesting to those of us who venture into "ancient" pre-'60's popular/jazz/trad/folk/etc. music, but lots of info about more modern stuff too.

Wow! Great stuff!

Thank you, sir!

I've just spent several hours reading bios on everyone from Jo Stafford to John Prine to Miles Davis. Amazing resource; the encyclopedia was first published as The Penguin Encyclopedia of Popular Music in 1989.
