Hold on to your MA2275, it will be a classic. The MA2275 would be my choice if I ever want an integrated!

On the Macs, mostly classical and jazz. I also like vocals with strong elements.

My wife liked your photos so much she has given me the ok to purchase McIntosh Equipment:banana:

My plan is to purchase a similar system, probably using SF Cremona M's rather than the Elipsa- which is just tooo damn expensive in New Zealand ($30,000NZD new).

I am curious to see if there was any negatives (besides $$$$) to getting a 2nd MC275, some say you lose some sweetness, did you find this true at all?
I am on the fence about getting a 2nd one for my system. I am in the Bellevue, WA area and would love to audition your system if possible.
I have a C2200 and one MC275 with ML CLS speakers, have tried solid state amps with the CLS's but keep coming back to tubes.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

I have to wait until my mortgage is paid off which will be 31st January 2011 (which will also be our lucky 13th wedding Anniversary)- so under 15 months to go:D The good news is if my company continues with its record year, this will bring forward the date to mid next year:thmbsp:

Ill start with the C2300, then the Mc275's as I get the money together. Probably purchase 2nd hand from Audio Classics as new prices in New Zealand are again, too expensive.

They will drive my current Sonus Faber Grand Piano Homes prior to up-grading to the Cremona M's.

I have this exact system! Grand Pianos + C2300 + 275s (only 1 at the moment, 2nd one on order). I've also purchased the Cremonas, but I'm still waiting for delivery.

Great! Can you let me know how the Cremonas sound compared to the Grand Pianos & the cables you are using? I use MIT through out.

How do your sources compare?

My sources are

Oracle Delphi Mark I
Dynavector 507 Tonearm
Lyra Argoi Cartridge
Marantz SA15S1 SACD/CD Player
Pioneer TX-7800 Tuner

My current pre-amp is the Sonic Frontiers Sf1 (No phono stage so I use an old Perreaux SM3 phono stage as a phono amp. A Sonic Frontiers Power 1 is my amp.

My system is getting old- apart from the Argoi cartridge & the SA15 which are 12 months old- everything else is over 10 years old-Ive owned the Oracle for over 20 years!

The reasons to change to a McIntosh are:

Current Pre-amp: no remote, no phono stage

Currant Amp- Underpowered & a little cool sounding in my opinion.

Up-grading to the the McIntosh C2300 gives me a remote (with all the featutes I want) & buying 2 MC275's will give me the power & warmth I want- all from an iconic HiFi company (unlike Sonic Frontiers which is long dead).

I also fell in love with the McIntosh sound last year listening to a C2200 & MC275 driving Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors- simply stunning!
 
Well, I haven't received the Cremonas yet, but today, with 1 275 and the C2300, the sound is great, very warm, just as I like it. To balance all the warmness of the amp and preamp, I went for more analytical sounding sources:

Esoteric D05/P05 transport/DAC combo
Rega P9 with Dynavector XX2
AQvox phono preamp.

Cables I tend to prefer Nordost, for the reason above (they're very fast and analytical), and things are generally pretty balanced out.
Even in my currently small room, there's no excessive bass, and good imaging (not bookshelf-level, though). I'm moving to a bigger house, with a proper audio room, so things will be even better then :)

I think that perhaps you should start with the C2300, as you'll probably get the biggest improvement in your current setup with it, than with the 275 amp. I just got mine, a demo unit, for considerably lower than the MSRP.
