no sault ste marie Ontario. local news rag has him posting a selfie when he landed here from Vancouver.a lot of filming has been done here in the last few years for various movies.if he was going to Toronto or anywhere else they wouldn't stop here unless theres a reason .

Katheryn Winnick has multiple Black Belts (and higher) and was a professional bodyguard. Many of the stunt people are afraid to get too near her in the fight scenes, What a woman.
 
She is definitely my biggest crush currently. They make her look gorgeous on the series, and I love her character.

we will get to see how much artistic license they use in this paris attack, as in real history under count odo the Vikings never made it in . they sacked paris years before but not when it was defended by odo.
 
No doubt they're mixing it up a lot. "It" being actual history.

A quick look at Wikipedia: Lindisfarne Viking raids were in 793. This was depicted in season one. As for Paris it is ambiguous. RE Count Odo's role "....the Vikings arrived outside Paris in late November 885, at first demanding tribute. This was denied by Odo, Count of Paris". But elsewhere in the same article "Although the Vikings had attacked parts of Francia previously, they reached Paris for the first time in 845, eventually sacking the city. "

Since the TV series story line depicts this as the first time Vikings have raided Paris, it would seem that Odo is an anachronism. Guess we'll still have to wait to see whether they get in.

Taking Season 1 as starting in 793, at least 52 years (possibly 92 years) have passed. Lagertha is still a babe. Good for TV.

Historically, it's a mess...:D
 
Another week of gibberish and nothing happening. This is like the 5th week that is all talk about invading Paris and that’s it. This series started out great but as I mentioned before it’s turning into a total yawn-fest. I can tell a show is crap when my wife asks if we have seen the latest episode. When the series started the wife would make a comment like “not more war crap”, now it’s me saying “not this crap again”. Maybe next week something will happen.
 
Floki? Set up by Ragnar? How/Why?

Floki, bless him, is freakin' crazy. He said so himself this episode. He is a great character to watch. That actor is doing a great job with him.

Interesting that Ragnar put him "in charge" of the attack on the city. Why he did so one can only speculate. Anybody got ideas?

Patch up their fractured relationship (re Athlestan)?
Motivate Floki to do inspired carpentry work on the ladders etc? (Floki didn't really add anything to the strategy discussion)
To send a message of some kind to other leaders/Earls?
To teach Floki a lesson?
To put himself (Ragnar) in a more rearward role to relieve pressure and be able to observe, and guide, from a more comfortable perspective?

Just a writers trick, something that really makes no sense and is unexpected?
 
Floki sucks and is a back stabber. Too bad the Vikings could not take Paris. Would love a Scandinavian speaking France!

Understood. Perhaps then I would have taken 4 years of High School and 4 years of college Scandinavian instead of French? Oui. Bien sur! ;)

I've missed the last season of Vikings! I need to catch up.
 
I regret investing my (required) 4 college semesters in French instead of Spanish. I love the sound of French, and all things equal would rather be able to speak it. But things are not equal. In the middle of the USA I get no opportunity to practice French and it has all faded. Spanish, on the other hand, would have been a much more practical choice with plenty of opportunities to practice...

BB since you are not current I will withhold comment on recent activities in the series. But there is just one episode remaining this season, in case you were not aware. I expect it to be an eventful one. It is yet to be determined whether they will get inside Paris. I don't think actual history is confining the writers in any way.

I have thought many times that I should have taken Spanish instead of French. I lived in France for a few years when I was younger, and of course the language ability helped then, but as you say, In the USA it's Spanish. When I go to Montreal, they "Pretend" they can't understand my Parisian French, and answer me back in English. I "Pretend" I can't understand their English and answer them back in French. ;) The game's afoot!

Yea, I have a lot of catching up to do on Vikings. It's available on demand. I'll have to get on it. Thanks for the comments.
 
watch for that cabin I put in my link.it will be on next year im told .bjorn will be doing a little hunting and fishing .a buddy of mine built the cabin for the show.they wanted to shoot a scene with snow and ice and we have plenty of that here.i believe once you get a rep as a good place to shoot films they will come and theres been a lot here lately.
