The Shure M75E

I've been using the M75E Type 2 for years now on my Technics SL-Q2 turntable. I installed a Jico eliptical stylus and couldn't be happier! As you can see, I also installed a thin aluminum washer that positions the cartridge and tonearm parallel to the record surface.

When I started working on the Garrard Zero I needed a cartridge for testing. But I did not want to rip it out from my main table. Then I remembered this M75 with unknown stylus that I got with a headshell purchase.
Should be ok for some quick testing I thought.
But here I am spinning record after recording with that thing
and it sounds great!
Maybe I got a gem with that headshell :-). Looks pretty bland though...

Thanks everyone. I'm actually considering purchasing a SL-Q2 right now, so good to know it works well with it. I'll probably use it on my Pioneer PL-255 or as an alternate for my SL-1500 for now though.

My Type2 looks exactly like mfenberg’s. I have it in a Dual sled for the 1219. I know it has an aftermarket stylus, can’t recall right now which one. No flip guard with those of course. Just seems odd to call it a Type2 for something as simple as a flip down guard, when something like the snap on mount is a major difference.

I have an m93e with the clip also an m81mc. I really like the ez mount. I used an m81 to fix a r1000edt with a dead channel. They're all the same engine. The nude n97ed fits these and tracks at 2.2 grams. The nude n70ed tracks 1.5-3 grams and fits the type 2, if you need a heavier tracker.
