The smallest speakers for this space?

Hi there

First off, I'm gonna be honest, I don't know much about Hi-Fi and thought this would be a good place to ask for advice :)
I recently modified my 2-story bed to fit another mattress below it. And now I am going to install a monitor (the one in the picture is a temporary one) in front of it. (See picture) I want to add speakers to this but I don't know which and where to place them for an optimal sound quality.
I thought about installing small speakers on the bed at the corners left & right, next to the monitor. Do small speakers that sound okay even exist? I can go for passive speakers as I already have an old Sony Amp and a Scarlett 18i8 to connect it to my PC.
I am aware that whatever equipment, might sound terrible here because of the space but my standards aren't so high.

Thanks in advance,
Stueyphone

Yes, your options are limited for sure as far as location. If it was me I would get speakers that come with brackets which allow you to mount to the wall, ceiling or whatever. Make sure they swivel. I would mount them to the bed rails. One rail that's against the wall to your right and the other rail opposite. This can be either the vertical rails by your feet or the horizontal rails. The horizontal rails would allow you to move the speakers closer to you. Or the horizontal rail above the vertical rails. As far as speakers go, I would just look for some used small Bose cube speakers and a subwoofer. Small and less intrusive. The sub can go under the bed or just about anywhere. Of course there are endless speakers to choose from, but they will need the ability to be to mounted with a bracket of some sort.
Good luck!

Will the speakers be used for music or just for TV viewing? If for mainly TV, I'd forgo the wiring hassles and settle for a good soundbar and subwoofer. Use the TV as the source for movie and music that's available through your cable, satellite, or streaming service. No stereo amp/preamp, or receiver needed.

The NHT SuperZero produces incredible sound for the their size (albeit with limited bass). As was mentioned, a sub would greatly improve the sound (with any small speaker). The NHT SuperOne goes much lower, but is a little larger. Both models have threaded inserts for wall mounts. Both models are available new (Amazon), or used (ebay). Although, I prefer the original, made in USA version, which is only available used.

Yup, whenever I see the words small and speaker in a subject here, my first thought is always the SuperZero. There are other excellent small speakers, such as the ADS 300/310 and the Canton Plus S, but very few of them are still in production and can be purchased at a reasonable price.

If you're short on space for a subwoofer, Monoprice offers 8" and 10" slim powered subwoofers that will probably fit under the bed.
