The ultimate Minimus database

I've collected several colors of Minimus 7's from several eras - The silver "made in Japan" era speakers are my favs. I've also collected a pair of Minimus 11's, Minimus 12's, Minimus 26's, and I've passed on a nice pair of Minimus 3's.

There are so many different Minimus models, each with some interesting variants and/or different sub-models (like the pro-77's). This made me think a thread with pics and descriptions of each and every Minimus speaker out there would be great! No need to get into mods, as other threads cover those well already. I'll post some pics of mine as soon as my new home's Internet is up and running...

Off to a Good Start....

I've loved my 2nd Generation Minimus-7 Black 40-2030A (1st Spring Clips w/holes for the Mobile Brackets: 40-2031) since I purchased them brand new 33 (*gasp*) years ago - and love my 1st Generation Minimus-7 Black 40-2030 even MORE since I purchased them DAYS ago.

As much as I love them, I think what you're suggesting is something that would have to be super-organized by a Mod, so the information is clear, concise & easy to find without getting carpal tunnel syndrome.

I think we're off to a good start with these two threads:

Thanks! Those threads are covering the 7's pretty well, but they seem a bit liter in scope regarding everything labelled "Minimus". Hopefully, we can hear more about other Minimus offerings!

I have come across several pairs of Minimus 3.5's that I have given to other AK members. They are kind of like 7's that were left in the dryer too long..... :D

This could be casting a pretty big net. There were a plethora of models marketed under the Minimus label, starting with the Minimus 1. Some that ran for just a year.

Then there are Optimus (and RCA) descendent versions of some Minimus models. And some that became "XTS" -- if these are to be included or noted.

There are also models or brands not marketed in the U.S., such as the Minimus-21 of '83, and (I believe) GenExxa labeled products.

I once sketched a timeline of all Minimus (and descendent) products gleaned from U.S. Radio Shack catalogs. Something like that might be a useful at-a-glance point of reference.

An organized, detailed and accurate account of the entire Minimus line could take serious effort. Probably worth doing ...
