what do they look like with the grills off?

i bought a pair of Thiel 03A last year for $60 on SF craigslist. cabinets were sorta ratty, but all the drivers worked. i sent the mids in for free surrounds from Thiel! they sounded great, but i sold them to a friend for what i had into them because i coudn't stand looking at the veneer. he's a great wood worker who's going to refinish them in Kona wood.

anywho, buy them as long as the drivers work. you can send them to Thiel for FREE re-surrounds!

The CS1.2 are much nicer than the 03a model both in form and function.

Here is a pic of mine from a "Why I love Kentucky" thread. I also have the 04a speakers that were pretty ratty. But with a little elbow grease they turned out wonderfully.

i gotta stop buying speakers though. i like my KEF Calinda, KEF 104/2 and JansZen well enough.

have you heard the 03A? the 1.2 look to have Thiel drivers, including the titanium tweeeter, right? the 03A used polydax and seas drivers and are a 3-way with a 12" woofer.

great deal though. they usually go for $300-$350 used.
