What makes you happy? I know we are going through a stressful time in this country and I think it's important to stay positive. The main thing that helps me is my family and friends. COVID has separated us from our kids but we have managed to stay in touch and care about each other. They regularly call and text us.

Other things that make me happy are my pets. Our dog and 2 cats are constantly up to something and I get a laugh from their antics at least once a day.

Finding sealed or NM records at a thrift. I have had great luck, especially with rare private pressings. My theory is the records was given to family members and friends as a gift and we're never opened. Also finding posters, inserts and other goodies still inside the album.

Listening to long time favorite albums. It's like going out for beers with an old high school buddy.

Cooking a meal from scratch and then sitting down and enjoying it together. My wife and I have had fun during lockdown exploring and tweaking new recipes. It has also added pandemic pounds.

So, what does it for you?

Having a great wife and family.
Having a warm home with electricity and running water (and backup generator).
Not experiencing hunger.
Sunrises with coffee.
Jazz.
Waking up every day with something to do. Never a shortage of projects.
Waking up!

Married to a good woman

Seeing the Duke Energy trucks get the power lines back up last Sunday morning after the ice storm. The house got cold last Sat night and we were no where near as cold here as those folks in Texas.

Seeing this past Thursdays forecast ice storm become a much ado about nothing event, at least in our area.

Seeing good, honest, caring people with real integrity get ahead. Way too much of the other

Interacting with those people. No fun having to throw my shields up

Watching reruns of the Andy Griffith Show, Sanford and Son (I'll start laughing knowing whats coming) and Star Trek

A nice spring or fall day with temps around 70 really puts me in my happy place.
 
The list is not in priority.

Winning an argument with the other 3/4'ers.

The car and snowblower start in this weather.

The dog still has holding power throughout the night.

There's still just enough cream for coffee in the morning.

Finding that last bag of potato chips.

There's still one more pair of clean socks.

My last check with the dentist went well.

I opened my eyes after a good night's sleep!


Simple, but happy events in my existence, esp right now. :bigok:
